Grandma Panzini gets the dreaded news [WWII]

As the story goes, uncle Jimmy Panzini had offered the ultimate sacrifice, his life, in the Battle of the Bulge WWII.  Just prior to that he had made arrangements for flowers to be delivered to his mother.  They arrived mothers day… after the news of his death had reached Grandma “Jersey City” (as we knew her).   This photo was taken outside the 7Th street Jersey City window.   You can feel the sadness in her heart.  I can feel that sadness looking it the photo to this day.
